Your script’s not working, unless I’m doing something wrong? I’m looking at five icons that display a script error if you click on them.

Anyway, apart from that one little hiccup, congratulations on your design. It’s clean, pleasing. Less is more. Great content too. Love it.

Hi rusty, probably you need to add “sudo” before the command. e.g.,

sudo install-mbr /dev/sda

True, true. fink and ports definitely add a lot of goodness to the Mac, I don’t disagree. So far I’ve been coping just fine without them.
MAMP just adds the ease of everything in one go, that you can start and stop with a single click. I don’t want httpd and mysqld and whatever else running on my Mac while I’m *not* busy developing a website or some such, and I don’t want to go into Terminal.app just to go and run a command to start/stop them. MAMP adds ease, but with it comes mediocrity I suppose. I’m definitely not advocating paying for the Pro version, that’s just wasting money, rather learn the ins and outs of the cmdline before paying for stuff that’s available for free.

Oh my goodness. A veritable cornucopia of mediocrity.

Why install fink or ports when you can install a free utility that expunges your right to create virtual hosts (unless you know how to edit your httpd.conf) – and also lets you install a whole slew of Open Source goodies like PHPMyAdmin, and… wait for it… even DDNS!

But wait. There’s more. With your paid for subscription you can even get a M$ certified Integrated Development Environment like… WINDOWS!

Wow.
